i went round the garden the other day,just looking at what was thriving and what wasnt,i found that one of my apple trees,planted 3 years ago(probably an aldi buy) and at about 3ft level there was a big wheal out of one side of the main trunk,with a carbon copy of mick jaggers lips around it,the tree above this was dying,all the blossom and leaves had gone brown and dead,as it was not in the best position,i chopped off below the damage,just above a branch and lifted it and put it into a 14ins pot,a good soak and it doesnt seem to have wilted at all,i may use it to replace the cherry tree in the italian style rear garden as it has never thrived,apples by the back door,i like the thought of that...
