This year my neighbours raspberry canes have spead under the fence and are now growing in my grass under my 60 year old apple tree. Currently I am mowing round them. When could I dig them up and move them to a more suitable place so I can get fruit off them next year. I think they are summer fruiting but I can ask my neighbour anything about them as they only moved in at christmas.

Best time to move raspberries is in early winter, when they are dormant. Usually some time around November-December but plants vary in how early they go dormant depending on the weather.
Once almost all the leaves have fallen off, the sooner they are moved the better because it gives them longer to adjust to their new location - plants which appear dormant above ground will often frantically be growing roots below ground in late winter in the few weeks before the leaves emerge.
If they are dug up in late winter all the new roots will be broken and growth/cropping will be affected. The same applies to almost all fruit plants, bushes and trees..

I can vouch for that. We moved house in early May and I thought I'd dig the fruit bushes out of the garden and build a fruit cage at the lottie for them. The blackcurrants are full of fruit, as are 2 out of 3 gooseberries, but the raspberries and strawberries are still sulking. I anticipate very little fruit off either until next year. So far only one of the raspberries has thrown upa stem for next year too. Might have to invest in some new ones next year. Are y'oroight booy?
