  • Blackberries this time :)

I am not a spammer, But i have so many questions for all you experts

My small plot has a blackberry bush, Its started to put some long branches out
    but i chopped them off.

How can i have a decent size to get a fair bit of fruit but not letting it overtake the whole plot?

    Thanks again.

      Blackberries aren't bushes.

They grow long stems (canes) which need training along fences or wires.

By the way, by chopping off the long stems you've just lost next year's fruit

Yes - although if it's grown into a tangled bushy shape there'll probably be some fruiting stems hidden away in the tangled mass that remains, so perhaps it'll fruit at half capacity next year.

No fence or bush to train it along. Its in an awkward spot really. I think they had
a shed at the rear and this would have grown up or around it.

Another bush to one side of it also. No idea what that is but that extends along to the small
          tree's that divide the plots.
Nothing edible. Well except berries for the birds.

Because its a small plot is there anything i can do?

You can put up a couple of posts with wires between to train it along.
Send us a piccy of your mystery bush and its leaf - we may be able to identify it

And you will get maximum yield by trailing the stems horizontally...
