when to move gooseberries?

When's the best time tomove gooseberries? They've all cropped but I want to transplant them into containers(currently in flower bed) not one of my best ideas as trying to dead head flowers,weeding etc has become a nightmare get shredded everytime! Also could anyone advise on pruning,when and how?
