Gooseberry, raspberry, and Loganberry VC, sorry being bit vague. It's just the stem no growth.

Ahhh. fruit bushes - or in your case, fruit sticks. Are you sure they're still alive?

Scrape away some of the bark with your fingernail. If its green underneath its alive. Or you could plant them out and hope for the best

It's unusual to have dormant plants at this time of year; check that the plants are alive as VC said, although very occasionally (I said occasionally; not often!) a raspberry "cane" can appear to be dry and dead but the roots still alive.

My raspberry canes are 7-8ft tall now, leaves as big as the palm of your hand and each cane has dozens of fruits at varying stages of development.
My gooseberries are falling off the plant because they're over-ripe.
As I type this I'm munching my way through a cereal bowl piled high with raspberries and the occasional gooseberry (some disease-resistant, virtually thornless European x America hybrid variety whose name I forget - it's not especially remarkable) which were picked early this evening.
                  .
