Daft question I know, but bear with me!
They are low growing, perhaps a maximum of 6" off the ground, where as I'm used to brambles growing every which way possible - they have spines, leaves look the same etc, flowers look the same - but the fruit is dull rather than shiny.

Could it just be a different cultivar? the fruit inside looked the same, I didn't taste them as they're so low and on what seems to be a common dog walking path/area.
