Raspberry bushes

Is this a good time to move raspberries that have spread out and grown where they shouldn't have please? Or do I wait til winter when they are more dormant? They finished fruiting a few weeks ago.

My understanding is you should wait until winter, but I expect someone with more knowledge on the matter will come along and either confirm or correct soon.

Do you want to move them to somewhere else Muppet, or just get rid of the ones in the wrong place?

Wanted to put my extra ones in the school garden really. I transplanted my strawberry runners there and thought the children could have a fruit bed.

Wait until they lose their leaves as they are still feeding the plant - that's my version of what you should do!!

If you want to keep a plant, it should only be moved in winter when they are dormant.
Loss of leaves, or loss of roots while the plant has leaves, can really weaken a plant.

A few tests I've done in recent years suggest that plants are more likely to become infected with root diseases if transplanted while they have leaves on (therefore suffering root damage while growing makes the wounded roots more easily infected by diseases, but doesn't seem to be anywhere near as much of a problem if plants are moved when dormant).
