  • Buying a damson tree

One site says Shropshire Damson Damson Trees is more compact than the Merryweather Damson Trees on St Julien rootstock...

Ideally want something heavy cropping (nom nom)

Any suggestions as to where to get a tree from and which one?

Think mine is Shropshire but not 100% sure without going to the plot. Got it from Blackmoors via the internet. Early days re fruit, especially as I'm training as a fan so will be sacrificing some fruiting wood to get the shape right for now. More worrying auto correct on my phone wanted to change Shropshire to Hampshire.....

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

There is not a massive difference between any of the damsons, but Merryweather is effectively a damson-like plum and also grows more like a plum - hence Shropshire Prune is, in comparison, likely to be a more "compact" tree, as it would be when compared to many other plums.
