Conference, Victoria, Stella - all good.

Braeburn - you might just about be OK in Essex in a good year, but Braeburn needs a very long growing-season and lots of sunshine.

Oh no Have I done wrong ??????? These trees are 5 - 6 ft & will crop 2014 didn't know about Braeburn
We have a south facing garden so all the trees should get a lot of light Planning on growing against fence panels so will be fairly sheltered

Put the Braeburn in the sunniest spot and you should be OK, especially if you get a year with a good autumn - the apples would probably be ready to pick at the start of November.

It's difficult to understand why Braeburn would be included in this sort of collection. It's a nice tree and a good pollinator for other apples, but is unlikely to ripen in most parts of the UK. A better choice would be something like Red Windsor, which is also self-fertile, and will ripen more readily throughout the UK.

Just looked at the ad and it says they will grow to 6-7 feet. Don't be surprised if they are smaller than that when they arrive. Couldn't find what size they are on dispatch.
You say that you are going to grow them against the fence. There was nothing to suggest they had been trained as cordons already, so presumably you are expecting to train them yourself.
The negative reviews seemed to focus on lack of fruit. A good crop the year after planting seems a little optimistic to me! One reviewer was expecting 50lb!

                Hi WendyC
Yes I will look to train myself We are going to grow in pots for the first year or so That way we can move them if need be We are south facing & not overlooked so they should get plenty of sunshine
Hoping for a good crop but there are only 4 of us so don't need too much
