  • Transplanting 6 month old rhubarb crowns ... or buy new ones

I was given a few rhubarb crowns earlier this year, which planted in my garden. They are not in the ideal place, but as I had nowhere else to plant them, that's where they ended up. I didn't pull any stalks this year, as instructed.

Now, I have an allotment and was thinking of getting some fruit, including rhubarb.

Should I just buy a few more crowns (they're pretty cheap really) or should I dig up the ones in the garden. Would that set them back even further.

    thanks for any advice provided

I would transplant the existing ones. If you buy new ones they would effectively be transplants anyway.

Rhubarb are ver strong plants and will withstand lots of moving and chopping up.

Transplant them into good soil and leave them alone to grow..they are tough as old boots....
