  • Chilean Guavas

    Hi Guys,

I've bought some Chilean guava plants I'm intending to grow in containers of ericaceous compost.

I was wondering if anyone knows what size pots I should be growing these in as I cant find any information on this.

    Thanks
    Gayle

Found this information for you Chilean Guava Plant - KA-POW - James Wong Homegrown Revolution Seeds and Book - Vegetable Seeds - Gardening - Suttons Seeds and Plants

It doesn't say that they need ericaceous compost - says any well-drained soil will do. As to pot size, I would put them in a pot just large enough to hold the rootball until they get going and then re-pot as necessary.

Hi, Thank you for this. I actually have his book (Homegrown Revolution) it came in an offer with the plants. It states that the roots like to be in acid soil so if you don't have this to grow them in containers but doesn't suggest any size just the eventual size of the plant (1m across and 3m high).

If I can find any info I'll just go with what I think.

        Thanks for your help x

I ended up taking RustyLady's advice and potted them up into something bigger, I'll probably repot them a couple of times until there in large pots x
