strawberry Plants

I bought some strawberry plants online and they arrived yesterday. We had a frost last night. Dare I plant them out today? I don't have any fleece to protect them. Any suggestions folks?

Strawberry plants are very hardy. However it does depend on where they have been growing before they arrived with you. Obviously you wouldn't put them straight out if they have been in heated greenhouse. What do the planting instructions suggest?
I think on balance I'd plant them out but keep an eye on the weather. Even if you haven't got fleece anything would do as a temporary measure: newspaper, cardboard, enviromesh.

thanks Wendy - I had come to pretty much the same conclusion myself. I am going to the allotment shortly - so will take plenty of paper/ cardboard etc.
