  • First raspberry buds

Very excited as seen the first buds on my raspberry canes this morning while hanging out my washing. All these little signs spring is round the corner are so exciting! I tell my OH and he just isn't bothered one bit!

I know the feeling - I planted my raspberry canes in November and a few of them are growing tiny green leaves now, as well as some buds springing into life! And yesterday I planted some new canes which have just arrived. But whenever I tell OH about them he just warns me not to get too carried away with the amount of raspberry canes I'm planting because will I have time to care for them all? But then I remind him that he has three motorbikes and 6 bicycles and he manages to care for them alright. And raspberries are way more exciting than bicycles at the end of the day.

I'm half happy that he's not bothered about gardening as it means he's not interfering!

I try to discourage my wife, her idea of gardening is chopping everything down to the ground. I grew a standard fuschia a few years ago took me ages and a lot of care, while i was in hospital she binned it saying it was dead! (It was December and just dormant). Bless.

I know the feeling, I get very excited when something germinates, or buying a new bag of compost, but the excitement is definitely not shared!

I've got lots of things coming into bud here. Raspberries, blueberries, filbert, elder, blackcurrant, and most of the trees. Really looking forward to seeing some foliage and blossom instead of all the bare wood all over the place

Lots of shoots and buds here too. Also got quite a lot of flowers popping their heads out - daffs, anemones and pansies. Spring's on it's way - yay

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
