I have two, one bought last yr and one last week. It did fruit last year with large tasty fruit and a smaller crop later on in the year. Considering it is now a year old it is only 75cm tall (was 40cm when I bought it) but has some large flowers coming. These are my only 2 blackberry so cant compare to others - sorry but yes happy :-)

I wouldn't bother.
It is very slow-growing, very light-cropping and often does silly things like being dormant until quite late in summer but sprouting leaves in winter; often flowering in late autumn so the fruits never mature.
A very peculiar plant. Probably bred in a different climate to the UK - or at least not adapted to my climate..

I woudnt bother either, its a most dissapointing plant!
Doesnt like the UK climate, and doesnt like Bulgarian climate, so I cant think of one it does like, its -7C in the winter in BG and 40+C in the summer in BG and doesnt grow, UK lower temperatures but not very cold still doesnt grow there.
If you want a good blackberry I reccomend Bedford giant, fairly large fruit and lots of it,it seems to grow anywere easily, quite a large plant thoughLast edited by starloc; 16-03-2014, 10:44 AM.Living off grid and growing my own food in Bulgaria.....

by Marb67I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
Ps, why when I upload an image do I get...1 PhotoToday, 01:40 PM
