leafy strawbs

My outdoor strawbs have loads of flowers and forming fruit, but also loads of lush big leaves, quite healthy plants all round.

Does anyone remove some of the leaves to expose the fruit to the sun for ripening purposes or do you leave them be, and just trim at the end of the season.

Once the plant has finished fruiting September ish don't cut back the leaves just remove the old leaves and any debris that has gatherd also any straw you have laid slugs will take up home in this

I've never thought about taking leaves off as they are what is putting the energy into filling the fruit, it seem counter intuitive to me. My strawberries are in the polytunnel and the leaves are enormous on great long stems, there is a really good crop of strawberries underneath and they are ripening well and taste great. I do turn the odd one that looks very red on top and a bit green underneath but I don't know whether that's just for my benefit. Mind I don't trim them at the end of the season either, I just let nature take its course.
