Disappointed with my strawberries. :(

Quick question, what are the canes for, strawberries shouldn't need any support?

I read it as if Bal had popped in to buy canes for something else and spotted the strawberries whilst in.

The two weren't to be used together.

My strawberries were brilliant last year, this year, dispite being netting ,strawed and pelleted, they are very squiggy, and being eaten, not by slugs,but ants I think? Anyone else having this problem? Def not as good as last year, just turned some into a coulis, nice with ice cream.

most of mine are elsanta,they are growing brill,this morning i put 6pound 3/4 ounze in the freezer,more to do,plus already got aprox 3 ld already froze,and that is just the last week,not counting whats been eaten,other plot holders cannot believe how well they doing,am trying NOT to show off,they are all ouside in beds,with no treatement thinking of giving them a feed tomoz,just as a boost,
