  • Branches looking droopy on apple tree

I bought a apple tree the beginning of this year, I planted it on a hill with my garlic and potatoes but over the past week the lower branches are looking droopy. They have little leaves on but no fruit. Any ideas? should I feed it?

    Thanks guys
    Jen

A picture would be very helpful. Also which variety and which rootstock.

Small leaves are a sign of the roots not working properly to deliver water and nutrients to the leaves. This could be due to the plant being on too dwarf rootstock for your conditions, or due to other plants nearby stealing their water and nutrients (a common problem with dwarf rootstocks which can't fight against other plants), or due to pest/disease attack on the roots (where the tree probably won't recover).
