  • Strawberry Tower

To make the most of space I have two beds on top of my chook run that are currently planted up with strawberry plants. The chooks are going to a new home and their run is going to become part of the pottager.

To reuse the strabs I am making a strawberry tower out of stackable wooden stillages that fit on standard pallets. Being wooden and having hinged corners (they fold flat) I am going for a diamond shape four stillages high. The foot print is around a square yard and I recon it will hold over a 100 plants. The outside will be painted a contrasting colour for interest and a few nasturtions and nigella will get scattered about too.

If anyone is interested they cost around a fiver each and make fabulous raised beds.

Oooh piccies please PW. I have decided I can't do strawberries on my plot so I need to sort something out in the back garden (which is tiny).
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
