Lack of or irregular food and water usually give me strawberries like that. They like constant dampness and a shot of tomato food every now and again. Another thing that can affect strabs in pots is when the fruiting stems get heavy with fruit, hanging over the rim/edge of the pot causes the stem to 'kink' and cut off the the supply of food and water to the fruit.

No fruit to cause them to hang really. There are allotments down the road but I am not a much of a social person and would rather be on my own with my headset listening to podcasts. I have has success in different years with a lot of the things I post having problems with but this year and the last were the worst. Probably the mild winter and the insane amount of snails I have had this year.

You don't need to be a socialiser to have a plot, you can go when you want, whack in your headphones & away you go..........if anyone wants to talk, you've got a shoulder they can tap.

I have some strawberries that should have been dug up this year but I gave them another chance, they had a lot of small and distorted berries, but the suckers from them I took last year had huge berries. So maybe your plants just need changing. Another possible cause is early slug damage when the berries are forming, one little bite then can cause an ever magnifying misshape as they grow.

Strawberries can get viral problems after a number of years and lose their vigour. Thats why it pays to change your stock plants every two or three years. Having said that, bees are in short supply so this could lead to pollination issues. Too much water or too little water could also have a knock on effect

I have plenty of bees as I have a wildlife friendly garden. The plants are new and others were runners taken from older stock.
