Yellow/black raspberries

Morning all

I'm just clearing out some old gooseberry plants on the lottie and was thinking of putting in a row of yellow raspberries in their place. Never having tasted them, though I've no idea if they are any good!

Can anyone suggest varieties? Alternatively I wondered if a black variety or even a hybrid berry might be worth growing! We have tonnes of red rasps and also masses of blackberries so fancied something different!

Of course any other suggestions for fruit to try are also gratefully received!

ETA - rasps would need to be autumn fruiting as we have lots of raspberry beetle!!

why not try some blackcurrants , they are easy to grow, taste great and I haven't found any bugs chewing them yet, I grow them(tie them in etc) the same as the raspberries and if anything the crop is a bit heavier and earlier and.......they make great ice cream/sorbet/ mousses etc.. I know its a hard life but someone has to do it.....ooooooohhhh how I suffer....

I've just pulled out my yellow raspberry, it was awful. No, I can't remember the name of it, sorry.

I like all gold, but many don't (I believe from previous posts two sheds isn't a fan). It's a milder taste, but it makes a funky looking jam.

I don't grow it anymore as my chickens killed the canes, but I do also grow a clump form in purple raspberry, which is also quite nice.

Either way - autumn rasps are easier to deal with as raspberry beetle isn't as issue with them.

I don't know of any black raspberries but Glen Coe And Glen Clova are really dark purple.

I have Autumn Gold yellow raspberries. As someone up thread pointed out, yellow varieties tend to be milder tasting. Personally, I prefer the sweet red varieties but I still grow my yellow ones as they look so lovely mixed in and they seem to be an oddity at my allotment site!
