grapevine, when and what kind should I get?

I really want a out door grapevine for out side, think one would suit my patio quite nicely but what and when should I get?
Im wanting one that are sweet to eat.
My patio is a suntrap in the summer from about 11am onwards, Im in durham (northeast) and it will be trained along the fence. Anyone got any ideas which kind would suit me?

I haven't grown grapes before, but this winter I'm going to plant Boskoop Glory. According to Bob Flowerdew it does very well outside in the Uk. Although it sounds like you have a pretty good location so probably there are a lot of varieties that would do well.
