    thanks Kevin for heads up
I bought 10 last year myself, they were a bit scraggly but grew on strongly with some shooting up some new thick stems. You should have an head up on me tho as I bought mine half way through the growing season.

Still a bargain tho as some nurseries are selling them in 9cm pots for £10.

For the price, I think I'll order 5 of them.

At this time of year most of them look scraggly but in a few years when they are in full swing ....
Once they arrive (Thursday 26th) they will boost my blueberry collection to over 20 varieties in 26 plants, even if some are scraggly. I am still trying to work out why I have so many, blueberrys are not my favourite fruit. Just obsessed with collecting different varietys.

Well the blueberries arrived today and I am very impressed with the service and quality of the plants. 10 very healthy looking plants, full of both fruit and flower buds, all plants between 30-40 cm and all are multi stems plants.

The only problem was the package was badly crushed. FedEx looked like they had piled stuff on the package (or someone had sat on it!) Fortunately the plants weren't damaged too badly. (A few cracked/crushed pots)

So once again Cheers Kevin for heads-up. Sainthood in the post.....

I thought I would give this thread a little bump to find out how everyones blueberry plants are getting on.

I got 5 x plants from Scot Plants Direct and I must say they are doing great.

They were really nice and healthy when I got them, and despite many of the leaves turning red/brown after planting (which I presume was from the early Spring being quite cold), they are now thriving.

Whilst we have had monsoon conditions recently - I'm a bit scared I will run out of natural water over the height of the season though.

I also got five plants from Scotplants and planted them on my allotment alongside two plants I already had (Pink Lemonade and another of unknown variety). Four of the new plants are doing well and produced good crops, although I didn't think to net them and the birds got most of the fruit. The last plant, variety Northland, died back in the very high temperatures we had earlier in the summer (37 degrees!). Apparently this particular variety is known for its cold resistance, so perhaps not a great option for the southeast. I initially thought it had died but it bounced back with new growth... but then was unfortunately dug up by an animal, I assume a fox. I just came to the allotment one day and saw an enormous hole where the plant used to be, and eventually found the mangled plant at the bottom of a pile of dirt. I had planted them in large holes filled with ericaceous compost so I think the fox may have liked the soft texture for digging.

I thought I'd give this thread a bump (again), as I found it had great advice.

Anyway, does anyone have any updates ?

The 5 plants I got last year seem to be doing really well (although the one that will supposedly be the biggest/busiest plant over time has not grown much - but has quite a few buds on it, so early days I suppose.

I gave them a good big mulch with fresh ericaceous compost at the weekend, so hopefully this will help them on.

As I'm giving up the plot at the end of Summer - I'm wondering if I'll be allowed to take them over to Ireland ?

My blueberry plants were re-potted into 30 litre pots about a month ago in new John Innes ericaceous compost. They're starting to come to life now with leaves on most of them (actually most of the fruit is coming to life, buds are breaking on the plums and cherries and the apples aren't far behind. The mirabelle seems to have flowered already and I hope it wasn't too early).

I did let the blueberries flower last year (first year) and probably got about a dozen berries from each plant so I'm hopeful of a better yield this year.
