My Lemon Tree has flowered for the first time and made me realise I have absolutely no idea about citrus pollination.
Do I need to get my paintbrush out and give them a tickle?
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.
We have one at work and I don't know if anybody fiddles with it or not but it does keep producing fruit with relative ease. It is sprayed with water on a fairly regular basis if that makes any difference. I just love the smell of the flowers, they're surprisingly strong but not overpowering if you know what I mean.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I always pollinate mine if they are indoors, I tend to go round with a paint brush every day morning and night, I was told it is not necessary but when I didn't I got no fruit
You can if a tree is too big to do it without a paint brush......you can get fruit set without pollination, spray with the correct concentration of gibberellic acid ( GA3 ) , but it needs to be done carefully as slightly different levels have different effects.
