black strawberries

Has anyone grew black strawberries? Just out some seeds and wondering what the taste is like? And if the growing process and held are as good as regular red varieties

No I got them off amazon. Tried seeds from the company before for purple carrots, lemon cucumber and a psychedelic veg and they were all great.

Sorry to put a dampener on it, but the only times I have heard of black strawbs are fake or have been created by splicing with fish dna
There is a purple variety but not available in the uk as far as I am aware

One person who got the seeds to germinate said this: "These are not strawberries - I don't know what they are exactly, they smell slightly minty, but none of the plants from any of the seeds I got grew into anything even remotely resembling a strawberry plant."

Hi, I do read reviews for all items, however I have found that a lot of the reviews can be the opposite of what you feel. I like to new, things and they looked interesting. The worst that happens is they aren't what it says on the packet, so to speak. Apologies for the typo, held was meant to be yield. New tablet for Xmas that I can't turn the predicted text off yet and I generally tend to be doing several things at once with a two year, old in tow.
