  • Stupid question about age of fruit trees.

I have always assumed that if you purchase a 2 year old fruit tree, that, for instance it was grafted in March time 2012 it was 1 year old in Marchish 2013, 2 years old in Marchish 2014 therefore coming up for 3 years old Marchish 2015.
Does this sound right?, please correct me if I am wrong.
I need a cup of tea now!
Feed the soil, not the plants.

Sounds about right to me FP. If you bought a 2 year old fruit tree today then next Feb it would be 3 years old........................Whatever you do, don't cut it to count the rings..........

Does 1 year either way really matter? Fruit trees live more or less forever with careful management

If you need a chainsaw I would suggest that your tree is more than 3 years old
