Kiwi 'Oriental Delight' (Actinidia) - J. Parker's
So I was having a look through the old catalogue and this jumped out at me. It says it will need spacing of 3-4m and regular pruning. Is this a smaller variety do you think or are they trying to gloss over the fact that this is a rampant thug? Also I was under the impression that kiwis set fruit on the previous year's growth, so does that mean that the "regular pruning" will actually render this an unfruitful venture?
Think I'll be a tad more forceful next time I'm buying a house and insist that it has a HUGE garden. Heating? Who needs it? Windows? Pah! As long as I've got space for wisteria and kiwi!
