  • Saw flies

Can anyone give me a good tip for controlling saw flies. Last year they took a liking to my white and red currants as well as the gooseberries and I would like to be able to protect the bushes and fruit.

      Saw flies

I had great success with bug spray from Bayer. I cannot recall name but it's for certain pests and saw fly is named as one. I had tried other things but this was very good and I did not need to repeat it.

I have heard that covering the soil under the bushes prevents the adults from emerging from the soil next to the bushes and laying their eggs.
        Might help a bit?
