hi, i`m new to growing fruit & i`ve got some 2 year old raspberry plants, i was told not to cut them back in the first year ? they are fruiting now (very nice too) & i need to know if i cut them back this year ? & if so when ? any advice would be gratefully received . thankyou

if they send up new canes this year you cut the old ones of because the fruit will be on the new canes next year

Hi, Jumping on the bandwagon here. I have had a hugh harvest of raspberrys in the last few weeks. Wondering if anyone has any interesting ideas for using them. Don't want to make raspberry jam or jelly. Any ideas appreciated.

Raspberry couli(s) for pouring on ice cream etc? Raspberry vinegar for coughs and colds? Open freeze raspberries for later use?

Standard raspberries fruit on canes produced the previous year, therefore you cut out the fruited canes down to ground level after harvest, and tie in the new canes produced this year - they should fruit next year, ad infinitum. Autumn fruiting raspberries are a bit different, and I haven't come to terms with them yet.

I have raspberries that are fruiting on this years new growth, no idea what sort they are - they were given to me early this year as cut back canes. Would I need to cut back this years growth or leave it? Would it fruit again on the same growth next year?
