"I have to say they were amazing this year, I’ve have pounds of fruits and I am delighted with them."

Thank you seasprout, thats all the motivation I need. I have a direct family source to horse dung heap so will add rotted in the bottom and will go with the 40l as planned, as you say yours have filled 20l tubs

I bought 3 of these online early this year. Each has given a little fruit which I was not expecting in the first year as they were only 9cm pots when delivered.

However, 2 of the plants only grew fruiting stems, so no stems for fruit next year. Is that normal? The 3rd plant has a good few stems that carried no fruit.

        Hello finleypop and welcome
As I understand it, they are Floricanes - they fruit on stems formed in the previous year - what we call summer fruiting raspberries. Your non-fruiting stems should carry fruit next year.

2 litre pot is quite a bit bigger than 9cm and no immediate potting up required

Has anyone successfully potted on one of these? We bought one last year. In its first year I thought it was going to die and the foliage died back pretty early but it sprung to life his past Spring, it reached a couple of feet and we had a nice harvest off it.

However I’ve always felt it’s in slightly too small a pot (can’t be more than 5l, 20cm pot). The new canes from this year are quite small and spindly - they didn’t have much space to grow until we removed the fruited canes in July. I’ll upload a photo tomorrow.

It’s now dormant and the canes have shed all their leaves so it feels like the right time to pot it on to a 30cm/10l pot (I quite like those Elho loft pots). Any tips. Should I remove some of the soil around the root ball then just put into a new pot with some multipurpose compost? I’m thinking pot on now, then apply blood fish and bone and a mulch of rotted manure in early Spring.

I potted mine on straight away. 2 to a 40ltr pot, I honestly don't think a 10ltr pot will suffice in its second year. They grow quite vigorously and can dry out very easily in the summer when in fruit, I know I had to keep an eye on mine this year.

The growing recommendation is one per 10l pot or 3 in a 40l pot IIRC. But I agree, it did need a lot of watering.

The 40cm pot in the range I like is 24l:

Might be a better option? It has a water reservoir which might help a bit with keeping it watered.

Here’s a photo, it’s not looking the best, I’m hoping once repotted it thrives come Spring.

My eBay ones planted this spring in 14 litre buckets each are now solid root and coming through drainage holes So as advised on here intend to repot in 38 litre tubs each using 50/50 soil/compost both reasons hopefully save time spent watering Also will as advised here add horse manure to the bottom of the tubs. Will plant the dt brown one straight into a tub.

Just wondering if anyone had any success with this raspberry - and the million dollar question - did the fruit taste good?
