  • Fruit tree grafting help please

    Just a quickie on (own) newly grafted trees, when the rootstock shoots/ sprouts do you remove the greenery asap or is there another process that should be followed?

    I remove mine as soon as I see any.
    The rootstock will preferentially grow it's own greenery and not the grafted bit I think.
    I think that removal by hand as opposed to cutting is supposed to be better.
    Just don't ask why.

      Rub them out, every other day if you need to, do not cut. You need the energy going to the scion.
