  • curly leaves.

My merryweather did nothing last year, no flowers, nothing. This year, it has thrown a profuse amount of flowers. The problem this time is that all the leaves are curling up tight. There are no aphids or any other infestation, so what might it be?

Sounds like leaf curl or silver leaf, have you pruned it when not in leaf?

      Is it in a pot?
Could it be dehydrated?..I know I've been having to water tubs for a few weeks already!!!

Alternately I'd go with aphids too..no idea about pruning though???

No, it hasnt been pruned. I've uncurled several leaves, no sign of infestation of any kind. It is in a pot, but it's a big one and I water regularly.

The leaf curl is getting worse. Still no sign of aphids, although I've given it a blast of greenfly spray as a precaution. Will this leaf curl affect the crop? It had loads of flowers, but no sign of any fruit forming.

Correction, quite a lot if fruit is forming! Most are of a uniform shape, but some are much bigger than the normal ones, misshapen, and of a yellowy green colour rather than the dark green of the normal ones. Any tips.
