Hi there
Autumn 2014, I noticed that my greenhouse peach tree was looking a bit sickly, did not fruit well either. On closer inspection I found that the branches were covered in scale insects. I picked and rubbed as many off as I could find over a week or so. It has flowered profusely over the last couple of weeks and many fruit look to have set.
Yesterday, I noticed that the scale insects had returned in numbers. This time, when I rubbed them off they were obviously live insects as my fingers and hands were covered in insect goo. I have looked at their life cycle on-line. They seem quite difficult to get rid of. Anyone got some advice, please?
I recall the Beechgrove Garden team removed a tree once because of a similar infection.
Peach tree is 10 years old, planted in border and I live in the West of Scotland.
Regards
Terryr
