Problem pear tree

We have been lucky to inherit a pear tree in our garden but the leaves have started to curl in on themselves and are turning red with a velvet appearance. Please can anyone enlighten me as to the problem and how to solve it. Thank you

Fungal.
There was a thread on this last year which I think I started, I will look for it, but what I can say is, my infected tree is clear of it this year but no blossom at all.

Whilst I go up my greenhouse look up Pear Tree Blister Mite.
My memory is shot, so it may not be fungal after all.( we shall see)

It is fungal---Systhane was the cure. (eventually)

Cheers VC, No that was what I originally thought it was but after much searching, the answer came from USA?
There were posts between my self and someone else and they were on about an oil from india whose name escapes me at the moment (probably forever). I used Systhane (it eventually worked, but it took till this year to know that it had),
1 of the cures is to improve the growing conditions and remove the infected leaves but as well over 50%---closer to 80% of the leaves were showing symptoms, it would have probably killed the tree as it was already severely weakened.
There were also photographs.
I am still looking but no joy yet.

To me it looks like pear blister mite, which I also have on my pear tree this year, together with pear rust. Poor thing is not having a good year!

Yes, Having read the posts, I now remember my Pear tree had 2 problems, one of which is the one we are now talking about, which was Pear Tree Blister Mite. (forget the Systhane for now)
