  • Bramley trees

I have 2 Bramley Seeding trees which were planted as 2 year old maidens last March 11th (2014) One is doing fine but the other looks a bit weedy. Both have had the same treatment, manuring and watering etc. The weedy looking one does have a problem with ants at the base. I have put ant powder down but to not much effect. Any ideas please? The other tree has got quite a few "baby apples" onboard.

If you have ants, then you probably have aphids, and aphids will quickly stunt the growth of a new tree.
