Hi
Decided to go ahead with pinching out the tips of the new growth on my cherries.
just the ones that are likely to produce next years flowers, this is my first year for cherries and I have quite
a few on dwarf rootstock under glass and I am limited for space, so I need to have a system up and running
hope I am doing the right thing.
kind regards
ioan
If hind sight were fore sight
we would all be better of a darn sight.
I've been thinking the same about my plums. I've been following the recommendations in my books and doing formative pruning in spring after the buds burst, but it would be easier to pinch out some of the almost certainly bad shoots while still green. So I think I'll be more proactive and see what happens.
