I noticed some leaves on my cherry tree curled up, on investigation there is hundreds of black "eggs" I think they are, anyway they are all over the leaves and stems to the cherries, any idea's what they may be, and if I should be worried about them? Or how I can treat it safely? Many thanks

Sounds like cherry black fly...
I prune off any stems like that and burn then so they spread more slowly.i do however have a large tree do can afford to cut it back.
Not nice are they?Last edited by Nicos; 24-05-2015, 02:46 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Cherry tree aphids, check for ants round the tree, they usually protect the aphid from ladybird predators. I rub the aphids off the leaves too & use a hand squirter on full power to blast them off,I use one squirt of hand soap, garlic is said to repel aphids, some people use cloves of crushed garlic in the water.Location : Essex

SQuirt them with an oil/water solition bit of cooking oil a few teaspoons in a litre of water and a drop of dishwash liquid it will suffocate them, if you have it neem oil is better as it suffocates them but also a poison to them ,stops them breeding and the smell scares them away as wellLiving off grid and growing my own food in Bulgaria.....
