  • hot or not

I have been waiting for the much trumpeted heatwave all week, and as expected, this furnace of heat we thought we might get, has just turned out to be a normal miserable summer, the forecast for saturday is a sweltering 12deg, that really is an unusual heatwave, worthy of a political spin doctor or government announcement, whats next?, "experts" telling us how lucky we are to only have to put up with a few sunny days each summer, I must admit that the recently moved rhubarb is loving this cold wetness and the goosegogs are swelling very nicely so we will just keep fingers crossed as we lost our melons in last years august chill.
they say you have to be an optimist to be a gardener but lately with this global warming forcing us to still be wearing heavy jumpers in june , it makes you ask WHO is getting this warming?

    I share your pain

The one really hot day we are in fact now due to get, here, is Friday - but we can't even enjoy that day, cos the heat will bring thunderstorms

Rotten here too but it's cheering up a bit. 12 degrees today and still wearing boots and coat! It's June for goodness sake!

Sorry, it has been great here, 21.3 C. Been out all day and had to put sun cream on as I was burning.

We hit about 19c today. Had to lotion the kids up before they went to school. Potted on my toms and they seem to be very happy in the sun now.

The term "global warming" of the late 80s and 90s has largely been dropped in favour of climate change. This would appear to be a more accurate description of the weather we've been having along with seasons shifting.

Suncream here, too. And believe me, that's not normal here! I'm finding out that the plot is a sun trap, and that anything strenuous turns me into a sweaty soggy thing. It's not pretty!

Lovely and warm, but so far we've had 3 lots of rain and thunder, so it's like a sauna out there

Thunder and lightning with heavy rain on and off all day. Poor grandkids got soaked going to school this morning. Dry and warm now.

Had some overnight rain with more promised around lunch time. Not a drop. And like 1Bee I needed a shower when I got in!
