Thinning Peach fruit

My peach tree looks t be having a bumper per year this year, the tree is covered in little fruits.



Any idea how to best remove the little spares without damaging main fruits

I have two peach trees that were here probably long before I was. They produce small, white-fleshed peaches. I don't usually bother thinning them, but maybe if I did I'd get bigger and better fruits. I think the best way to remove them is probably to pluck or tweak them off with your finger and thumb, so they detach at the natural detachment point. I'm no expert, but I should think cutting could do more damage and risk letting in diseases. My trees naturally shed a lot of those small runty fruits anyway, like the "June drop" with apples and pears. And when I went out to check them a few minutes ago I found many of them were ready to go and fell off when I just touched them.

Tried removing a few but harder than it looks without damaging main fruit. Guess I'll just wait a while and see how they grow

A month later and they are almost ready to pick.. very excited indeed

Did they thin themselves or did you do it?
My peaches weren't so good this year - don't think I pruned them properly
