Last year we planted one and what a happy plant it is. It's put on good growth where most things sulk for a year or two, and a goodly amount of fruit is ready to pick. They do indeed look like gooseberry-sized blackcurrants.
What's not to like?
Sadly they taste like very very very very very dilute ribena.
