Last year we planted one and what a happy plant it is. It's put on good growth where most things sulk for a year or two, and a goodly amount of fruit is ready to pick. They do indeed look like gooseberry-sized blackcurrants. What's not to like?

Sadly they taste like very very very very very dilute ribena.

    Is it just me?

    Mine still green.

Wouldn't eat raw but not too bad stewed.

    Seems to thrive on neglect.

Excellent, Danny - I can do neglect very well!
I shall stew them and report back

They make nice jam and chutney.
