I have a Bradley tree which has an aphid infestation. Many leaves are curled. I have tried to remove by hand (I don't want to use insecticides) but there are too many and the curled leaves are hard to access without destroying them. The worst are often the new shoots and I wondered about cutting the off but wondered if this would cause any longer term damage to the tree. He bees love it though.

Get rid of the Ants.
The predators will arrive.Feed the soil, not the plants.

(did you mean Bramley rather than bradley?)
Would a 3" strip of vaseline around the trunk get rid of the ants? Like Blueradish, I don't want to poison anything....just 'rebalance' nature in my favour

But for organic, try Borax mixed in or sprinkled over the top of the vaseline (never done this), but no reason why this should not work.Feed the soil, not the plants.
