do you think this would make a good fruit cage frame ?

My main concern would be wind ,but its going to have mesh on not solid panel so shouldn't be affected should it ?

Mesh still gets effected by wind, just not so much as solid panels. What do you intend to do with it over winter?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

For the price, I would be tempted to buy 8 lengths of timber & knock one up yourself if poss. It would be a lot sturdier if the uprights are set in the ground plus you wouldn't be tripping over the ropes.............

        Mally

That was my first option and i have decided to go with this .i'm going to make a 5m x 3m cage using 2x2 timber( or as close to this as possible with out to much timber waste) ,but im going to screw the timber to Aluminium poles that are sunk in the ground. This way the timber wont be touching the ground and shouldn't rot as fast (or hopefully atall ).

2 Blackcurrant bushes are planted ,3 gooseberry and 3 red gooseberry are on there way.
4 Blueberry bushes are here and i'm planning there raised bed ,so i can meet there soil requirements.erry

Strawberry planter is being built and i'm waiting for raspberry canes from plot holder at the end of season.

Also trying to decide wether to have redcurrant, blackberry ,tayberry or white currants aswell?what do people prefer ?

        Thanks

        Anthony

When I buried my posts, I wrapped old compost bags round them first & they seemed to last ok.
