I've been reading posts and it seems clear to me that you are THE most successful strawberry grower here.

What is not shown in posts is the fact that I am probably the least successful strawberry grower here

I really, REALLY love strawberries

I am in need of a masterclass...

What variety?
What in?
How do you do it?

I want to grow 61 lbs next year too (2 lbs would be a start )
Please help me...

Well I did have a lot of plants. They are planted in the ground and I don't do anything special to them. Top dress with leaf mould each year and only let them fruit for three to four years then oust them. I have ousted 24 plants this year and the rest are 30 two year old plants and 9 one year old. The two year olds were the best croppers and will get another year before they are out. The old plants produced quite a good crop but they were mostly small and suitable for jam. I used hay to cover the ground as I was short of straw and didn't have slug or rot problems. I am going to give them a general purpose feed this year in the next few days.

The variety I have is Suprise de Marche but it is not easy to find as it has been superseded by a 'New improved' variety and I don't know what the name is.
