  • Bringing a grenadine back from France

    Hi all,

My mother has a house in France, near Lyon. Unfortunately she's not able to make it down as much anymore so wants to bring some plants back with her, especially the ones that are harder to find in England.

The main one of these is a grenadine plant. It is currently about 3' tall planted in the ground. I know that this isn't the best time of year for moving plants, but how would you recommend doing it? We will be bringing it back in the car next week, so should we prune it first, dig it out and pot it up in advance?

    Any help much appreciated.

    What's a grenadine?
I thought grenadine was the pink stuff in the bottom of my cocktails (*Hic*)

IIRC it's more the soil than the plant that's the problem, I THINK if you prune it & then wash the soil off so it is litterally a bare root it will be OK, there is a DEFRA .pdf document about it, will try & find a link >>>>>

I'm not really sure what you mean. Is it a Pomegranate tree?, or is it Phlox Paniculata? I know there are one or two other plants that also are occasionally known as grenadine plants too.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
          Pumpkin pi.

It's a Grenadine as in pomegranate tree yes. I know I'm able to transport plants between England and france (but thanks for checking) in just wondering on the best way to do it to give it the best chance of survival.

I keep reading the title as "grenade". Pretty sure that's not allowed!
