Sad looking rhubarb

Hi,
On my new plot there are several rhubarb plants. The seem well established but look a bit well sad and look as if they need perking up.
Can I put anything on them now? There is plenty of horse manure on the site but it looks a bit fresh and not rotted down much. So I was thinking that could be to strong and damage the rhubarb crowns.

Get some manure, a few barrow loads, and stack it by the rhubarb.
Round about March after the worst of the winter, sprinkle a little growmore around and cover the crowns with about 6" of manure.
Then stand back, prepare crumble mix AND SEND MY INVITATION TO THE CRUMBLE PARTY.

I always top dress mine with home made compost from the dalek which usually perks it up a bit. Also, try a liquid feed, if you have any comfrey or nettle tea, that might help.

Rhubarb always looks sad at this time of the year it's coming to the end. Don't pull the stalks as they help to build up the crown for next year. Do as the others have said and top dress.

Will it be ok with the manure being so fresh? Some rabbit manure is being delivered next week.

Have you got any woodash available that you could sprinkle round the crown.

Rabbit manure will be fine, that's what I use on mine.

I would bung the manure onto the rhubarb just before Christmas and let the worms drag it down for you and look forward to a great years crop, I may be wrong but that's what I would do..
