Plumegranates and Watermelon Plums

Spotted these oddly named fruits on sale in Morrisons today. Tracked them down to Plums -  Ben Dor Fruits & Nurseries
Are they just eye-catching names for ordinary-ish plums?

Looks like a marketing ploy to me. Never looks like a cross between the two.

Well- they LOOK interesting

their names imply genetic crosses but they are clearly not.

I would certainly be willing to taste them though!

Ben Dor breed there own varieties,I would be interested in how they taste,acidic? Supermarkets buy fruits for constant demand/storage reasons other than taste. This is quite interesting.
