I have just finished tying in my autumn raspberries after removing the "spent" stems, we are so far behind England in the seasons (even worse this year) that they do not attempt to fruit late and so give us earlier and larger crops, usually from july until the frosts, this year the seasons crop seem to be in a shorter time but thankfully no reduction in the amount of fruit, all gone into ice reams and frozen down for some apple and raspberry pies etc, on dark winters nights..
I found a use for the rubbish onion crop, we now have 6 large jars of pickled onions, to go with a lovely sharp cheese in doorstop wedges that pass for sandwiches on my plate...happiness..
