I've got a bunch of raspberry canes that need pruning, but I'm not quite sure which ones are the ones that fruited this year and need pruning and which are the first year canes that will fruit next year. Any tips?

This has helped me too, thank you. I've cut back the obvious canes and left the ones I'm not sure about!
I have the Glen Ample variety...huge and delicious and best of all free with GYO Mag so thanks to them also. They don't half grow tall though.Last edited by Jay22; 19-09-2015, 07:40 PM.sigpic

That's me Bramble
To be honest, I wait until they're completely dead and brittle and snap them off, with a bit of help from my boot. If they snap when I tread on them I'm know they're dead.
I didn't say this earlier as it makes me sound like a heartless raspberry killer, and I'm not. I lurve every raspberry that's running amok through the garden
