I have some plastic troughs about 2ft x 6" x 6" and have three plants in each also wall mounted troughs like those that used to be used for cattle feed with 3 plants in each. Plus this year I have 10 6" pots 1 plant in each to over winter in the GH for early strawb's.

If you are struggling for space but have a fence, line a pallet with plastic on all sides. Put holes in the bottom for drainage & in the front to feed the runners. Fasten to the fence & fill with compost. Excellent strawberry planter.

I have a planter made from pallets, but we dismantled it and put it back together so there are little troughs the plants sit in. I think we got an alright crop, nothing amazing. I might try this way, or similar next year instead.

I have a pallet planter of the sort BM mentioned.

I'm going to try tumbling tomatoes in it next year.

Love it - I really lap stuff like this up, it looks great.

(although it looks from the picture to be precariously propped up by a black bucket )

I just want to say thanks !!!

Once the cr@p weather subsided here in East Yorkshire (afternoonish) - strawbs were sorted, nearly.

A bit of finishing off to do tomorrow, although weather is predicted to be better.

                Cheers for the advice.
