Hi!
I had a hard days slog up the allotment today, (plenty of pictures for later).
Looking at my blueberries today, nearly all of the buds on the ends of the new stems are dead, some are 'wooly'..
And I squeezed a couple and very small bright green caterpillars came out.
My internet searches are suggesting 'winter moth' there's quite a bit about blueberries having problems in the states with it, but very little over here.
Has anyone had anything similar?
The photos seem to be spot on and the description of the damage.
Also, is there likely to be any repercussions from the damage!? The stems that are affected won't grow anymore, will this throw out more sideshoots?
I'm not going to use chemicals on them, just pick them off and hope that they have a very short season!?
